IP Address: 24.36.25.168 Last Update: June 08, 2009 at 16:38:05
Amplifier: MAS Iraklis
Preamplifier (or None if Integrated): MAS Charisma II
Speakers: Reference 3A MM Capo i
Sources:
CD Player/DAC: Rega Saturn
Turntable/Phono Stage: N/A at this time
Other Accessories/Room/Misc.:
Speaker Cables/Interconnects: Atlas cables/interconnects
Other (Power Conditioner, Racks etc.): Not yet
Tweaks: The usual spikes on speaker stands and component rack. Both filled with led shot.
Room Size (LxWxH): 10' x 17' x 8'
Room Comments/Treatments: Forced to set up in near field. The 3A's sound best away from the back wall. The furthest I can have them out is about 18". This creates a bass overload. I am currently discussing room treatment panels to combat this. Even with this mild bass overload, the system sounds great. If room treatments don't solve this, I'll have to move lol. If anyone has their system set up in severe near field causing bass overload, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): Very eclectic.
System Goals/Comments: To forget about the gear, and let the music captivate me.
System Strengths: Detail, soundstage, above all; musicality.
Vast improvements to come(hopefully) with room treatment.
System Weaknesses: Room dimensions.
Video/HT System: Separate
TV/Projector: Toshiba 40" LCD
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: Same as above
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): Same as above
Sources (DVD/VCR): Cambridge Audio DVD99
Comments on HT System: DVD player and screen are fine for me. I invest more money into the audio. I have some live concert DVDs(Zappa, Jeff Beck, etc.) that I'll run through the audio system when watching them.
