Music Preferences and Comments:
Music Used (Genre/Selections): | I tend to listen to softer, subtler music on this system - largely because it is in a smallish room. It's my "relaxation time" system. I am more likely to play loud rock music on the HT so I can hear it throughout the house |
System Goals/Comments: | This system is comprised of gear that I sell, and serves as a demo system for local people who want to hear before buying. (I'm an online dealer with no showroom, but I demo in my home sometimes) |
System Strengths: | Superb clarity and resolution; surprising dynamics; fluid midrange |
System Weaknesses: | The room isn't well treated, which hurts imaging that is normally very good with these speakers. Also, the ACA Trinity needs to play a little louder than is comfortable in that room in order to really pump out the bass. The system would be better with a small, musical subwoofer. |
Video/HT System: Integrated
TV/Projector: | Samsung Slimfit CRT HDTV |
Processor/Receiver/Amplifiers: | Yamaha RX-V663 |
Speakers (Center, Surrounds, Sub): | AV123 Rocket RS450's, RSC100mkii, ELT525T's, and MFW-15. |
Sources (DVD/VCR): | Sony Blu-ray/multi player Logitech Squeezebox Touch Cisco Explorer 8460HDC |
Comments on HT System: | It's a budget system, but overachieves. Plenty loud and dynamic for my small-ish living room. My main complaint is with the center channel. I hope to switch to an ACA Trinity LCR soon (both because they're light years better, and because they're a product I sell) for the front stage, but I have to switch my tv out for an LCD as the Trinity-C isn't shielded. On hold for now as my audio business hasn't made me wealthy yet, lol. |
